- Whatsapp states that they are 100% encrypted meaning the chats that an individual has will only stay between them and the person they talk to.

Disadvantages
Though there are so many advantages there are also disadvantages and negative ways it can be used.
- Whatsapp could be used to spread misinformation and things which are not true about the government which might lead to riots and protests which will lead to violence and people and the citizens of a county getting hurt.
- Whatsapp could also be used to cyberbully someone with words, which would deteriorate an individuals mental health, they could also black mail someone through whatsapp by sharing photos and videos of an individual.
- WhatsApp though is 100% encrypted it still collects metadata such as name and phone numbers of individuals which can raise privacy issues and could also be sold for profit.
- WhatsApp is not prone to scams and hacks which can be done to video links which might get sent on an Individual’s SMS.
- WhatsApp can also only send videos which are 16MB and Documents which are 2GB which might not be inconvenient for daily use people, but for people who need to send long videos and documents would have a big problem.
